Half of the Dutch population has created concerns in 2015 about the digital security. The result is that people are more cautious with placing content, or even sometimes forgo certain activities online. The study, conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
Personal information
This also means that half of Dutch people just makes no security concerns through the Internet. According to CBS, people who do worry especially become more cautious in posting personal information on social media. Four out of ten Dutch people now prefer to put anything out of concern.
Security incident
But where the real fear comes from, that is not clear. Indeed, the number of incidents in which the security is compromised, it seems increasingly just too bad. Eight percent of respondents said they had experienced a security incident on the Internet in 2015.
Concerns about digital safety play especially in people between 25 and 65 years old. Probably also because this group is generally more active on the Internet. People aged 75 or older make the least worried about Internet security. They also experienced fewer real problems.
