ROC Leiden liable

The General Education (AOB) wants the former directors of the ROC Leiden liable for the chaos in the educational institution.

The union wants to set an example. The educational threatened in the summer to go bankrupt and had to be rescued by the Ministry of Education.

The AOb investigating the possibility to start a procedure itself at the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court. The organization hopes that educational administrators in the future not take any irresponsible financial risks if they know they will be held personally liable.

Commission

Earlier this month the commission Meurs gave a damning verdict on the government of the ROC Leiden. The board took the committee unreasonable risks in the construction of school buildings.

The commission said that there are sufficient grounds to see if the former school could be held liable. The ROC announced that it alone as it gives the school something.

Second room

"We want drivers to be aware of the risks for the education major investments such as new construction entail," said AOb director Ben Hoogenboom. Before it can come to a claim through a civil lawsuit, the Enterprise Chamber must first determine that there has been mismanagement.

In the House today will be further discussed the future of the ROC Leiden.
