The aim is to be in the right place in nine out of ten cases within fifteen minutes. Last year, the so-called response time was achieved in only 70 of the 393 municipalities.
Rural police arrived at 85 percent of the reports on time. This is a slight decrease compared with 2014, when it was still more than 86 percent. The units Amsterdam, Limburg and North Netherlands succeeded in any municipality to meet the standard.
According to police, it is particularly difficult to be on time in rural communities. Those areas are often vast and sparsely populated. Moreover, agents must often two-lane roads where the speed limit is low (60 or 80 km / h).
In recent months, a number of offices closed in the Netherlands, but police have not led to decline in response time. The next few years will disappear half of the 400 police stations.
