Members of the Central Works Council (cor) of the National Police have more than two years had a double allowance for their work, while they were already exempt from work.

This is clear from the documents released today by the police. The documents describes an arrangement whereby members of the works council received a monthly allowance from the cor, which rose up to 537 euros.

In addition, they received a large fee from the regional police force where they worked. By comparison, an average street cop earns about 2,000 euros per month.

It would be a transitional arrangement whereby the cor members from January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2016 received both the old and the new allowance. Thirteen people were entitled to this scheme, which was signed by the corps led by the National Police.

Internal research
Last month, the National Police launched an i ntern investigation to the chairman of the cor, Frank Giltay. Who came under fire after it became known that the cor expenses were too high.

Giltay laid in June down from his position. He would have spent lots of money on outings , dinners and other activities.
