If you are in possession of a large quantity of drugs, you can avoid talking customs normally better, but in the port of Rotterdam customs officers take the rules are not so closely.
The NOS reports that there are strong indications that drug traffickers have bribed customs officials.
Earlier this year there was already arrested a customs official in the port of Rotterdam because he helped criminals entering bulk drugs. A container was found with 400 kilos of cocaine. Now in the file of the case shows that there are probably more customs officers, who earn extra money that way.
2000 euro per kilo
The suspicious customs officer Gerrit G. earned a considerable sum to help drug offenders. Per each kilo drug which he showed he was more than 2,000.
