On the Amsterdamsestraatweg in Utrecht in 2015 at least 31 serious accidents happened. In doing so were definitely 35 people injured. One of the crossings is also the second-most dangerous crossroads of Netherlands. All in all, does that make the street the most dangerous of Netherlands.
Intersections
In 2015 happened more than 8000 accidents at intersections. At least 144 people lost their lives and nearly 9,000 people were injured. The most dangerous intersection is Capelseweg in Capelle aan den IJssel, just after the junction with the main road, on the municipal boundary with Rotterdam. There were eight accidents at nine wounded.
Seven different intersections occurred seven serious accidents. The two intersections with the most injuries (9) are both in Utrecht. It involves the Pascal Square, the intersection with the Carnegie Drove and the intersection Amsterdamsestraatweg, Marnixstraat and St. Joseph Boulevard.
For local residents it is no surprise that the Amsterdamsestraatweg as dangerous street comes out on top. Several community groups are active to adjust the traffic situation. According to local residents driving cars, which are 50 kilometers per hour may, on treacherous stretches of road sometimes 100 kilometers per hour. Because it just seems that the road is wide enough, unsafe situations arise.
Car rams waiting room
Arvid Dam, which has a mesologiepraktijk on the street, wrote as chairman of the undertakings an urgent letter to the council. Last month, drove a car after a crash through the window of his waiting room. "A few minutes before the accident there was a mother with her three week old baby.
